I subscribe to the LJs that I enjoy reading. Generally if I don't like reading most of what you write, I will "unfriend" your LJ. This may have nothing to do with you (YOU may be fascinating) and just reflect that you mostly post on topics I find uninteresting.
The more frequently you post, the more I care about signal-to-noise ratio.
Yes, there are LJs I haven't subscribed to but read periodically. Note the periodically. ;)
